The Foremost Explorer Series are hydraulic top drive rigs designed for shallow oil and gas drilling to depths of 6,000 ft (1,800 m). A unique hydraulic pullback and pulldown system delivers hoisting capacities up to 130,000 lbs (58,967 kg) with no mast crown load. The Explorer Series is capable of both vertical and slant drilling.

The Foremost Explorer Series are hydraulic top drive rigs designed for shallow oil and gas drilling with the ability to handle Range III tubulars. The unique hoisting system utilizes hydraulic cylinders rather than the conventional draw works. This hoisting system allows the operator the ability to either pull back or pull down at anytime and is ideally suited for applications such as top-hole drilling, setting of surface casing or directional drilling.

The Foremost Explorer Series of drilling rigs were first introduced in the early 90s and since then has evolved to be one of the most versatile rigs in the industry today. Based around a modular design, the Explorer Series offers a large selection of options, which allows every rig to be customized to suit the individual requirements of each customer or application.

Applications

  • Top hole drilling

  • Setting of surface casing

  • Directional Drilling

The Explorer Series also feature a fully automated drill pipe and tubular handling system, designed to eliminate manual handling when making connections or bringing pipe to and from the drill string. Capable of accommodating up to range III casing, the Foremost pipe handler also provides sufficient clamping forces to assist in breaking tool joints.
